When I saw they continued the Large Pizza for $10 special past the Super Bowl date, I thought I may as well take them up on it. It was, as expected... average... a C+. The + is for the amount of ingredients on top of the pizza, which I'm partial to with pizzas such as these. I ordered the Specialty Pizza - The Works, specifically because it's usually one of the ones with the most ingredients on top. It's cool that they are including all Specialty pizzas or a custom one with up to 7 toppings of your own choosing in the $10 special deal. The dough was soft and chewy but flavorful. I probably should have requested well done. I usually prefer their garlic or BBQ sauce, but the tomato sauce that comes with The Works was actually quite good and had a nice 'fresh'ness to it. This location's address in Chevy Chase is actually kind of confusing - as it is one block off 355 (Wisconsin Avenue) in the heart of Bethesda. Like all Papa John's I've seen, they offer delivery or carryout only. I placed my order online and arranged for carryout. It was ready 20 minutes after my last click. Friendly and efficient service for my pick-up. All in all a decent basic pizza experience.

I forgot how slow this place is and ordered another pizza here; What a mistake! On my receipt, it said I ordered at 5:15pm and it was out of the store by 5:30pm. At 6:30pm I finally called and was put on hold for 15 more minutes and I only hung up when the delivery guy showed up. DON'T EVER ORDER FROM HERE!

Let me first say I love Papa John's Pizza. It is by far the best. However, you shouldn't have to wait over two hours to receive it. I have ordered three times from this location and all three times I have had to call to ask where the order it. They always put it down to a sudden rush or a driver with a lot of deliveries to make. I understand that things happen but when they happen constantly something needs to change. I am currently sitting here at 1:40 having ordered a pizza at 11:30... called twice... promised a credit... and told the driver will be here "momentarily." All of this has resulted in zero pizzas, zero credit, and definitely no refund yet. A shame.

My experience reflects that of the rest of the reviewers here. Terrible service, long delivery times and incorrect orders on ALL OCCASIONS. Multiple instances of grease-soaked boxes, forgotten extra sauces and cold pizza. We've given them so many chances that we just can't order from them anymore. The customer service is embarrassing and the fact that they can't get a simple order correct is incredibly annoying. Domino's has quality pizza and delivers in under 30 minutes without any mistakes. Do yourself a favor and do NOT order from here.

Getting much better! Used to get messed up orders, 90 min. delivery, etc. But now-- like a new place! Right order, fast service. Very happy since the pizza is delicious and wasn't ready to give up on them. Way to go, PJs.

I shouldn't be able review because I called at 1115 and they picked up the phone closed. They then offered up a breakfast diner as a good choice. Sorry guys that is crazy. Monday night football should call for delivery until midnight.

I used the online system to order pizza and wings two days ago, in the middle of a snow storm. I fully expected the restaurant to call and say that they weren't delivering - understandably - in that weather. Instead my food was on time and hot! Thanked the driver and she said that they just drive extra slowly in bad weather. :-) Thanks for the warm food and good service on a nasty day!

OMG! Rudest Papa John's I have ever had to deal with.... ALLEN answered the phone. I called to redeem a TOTALLY FREE large one topping pizza I was given after a previous less than desirable experience with Papa John's. I ordered a one topping pizza, with no extras, and he then gave me a total...I simply inquired about the total, and he started to get rude and talked over me for a 45 second rant, when he continued to speak over me, I asked him politely "are you done? may I say something?" he HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I then tried to call back to cancel the FREE order, and he kept picking up and hanging up on me. Once I finally got through, I told him I wanted to cancel free or not, I was not going to be treated like that. Then he told me, he never put in my order, and he was not going to anyway!! he said he called his General Manager Mike and that is what MIKE told him to do! (I am curious as to who is doing the hiring at this place?!?!) I would rather PAY for a quality pizza, and a friendly attitude from a mom and pop place around here like Mama Lucias, Victor's, Bel piattos, M&N, etc. than HAVE A FREE PIZZA from this particular papa johns. ALLEN, I hope you are proud of how you represented your company. Not all the free pizza in the world is worth dealing with you ALLEN. Get with it, if you do not treat people with respect, you are going no where in this life, and especially in the DC/MD/VA! (PS I may have his name spelled wrong, but that is what it sounded like he was saying over the phone)

So many pizzas, so little time. First of all, we live in a place that only Dominos delivers to, and for a variety of reasons, just don't like their pizza. We have turned to PJs and pick up our pies. We order online as there are always specials after Nats, Maryland or Redskins games. Pretty good, better than baking frozen. Orders are usually correct, but of course the last time a delivery guy took ours by mistake to someone else. So they rebaked ours and gave us a free one. Big fan of their thin crust and finally discovered their spicy sausage, which in combo with pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers is excellent.

If I could give this branch of Papa John's zero stars, I would. They delivered the wrong pizza to me, and when I called to complain the woman informed me that it "isn't [her] problem." I'm sorry, if it's not your problem that your branch delivered me the wrong pizza, then whose problem is it?! I then proceeded to tell her I would like that charge on my card canceled, and she told me that she couldn't do that, but the next time I called I would get a free pizza. Are you fucking kidding me? I don't want a free pizza sometime in the future, I want the pizza I ordered NOW. I asked her if she would correct my order, and she informed me they were too backed up, and that I would have it in about two hours. Fuck you, Papa John's.

Ordered from them twice, they messed up both of my orders. I've definitely had better papa johns. Also, it took them more than an hour to get me a large cheese pizza and garlic \sauce, and they forgot to bring me the two extra garlic sauce I ordered and they demanded I pay for the two garlic sauces which they didn't even bring. I mean it was like only a dollar but I was pissed.
